Institution Profile: Founded in 1826 by citizens of Easton, The Lafayette Experience allows students to achieve the future they imagine by taking advantage of unique opportunities to customize their learning that are not available at other institutions where the focus is not exclusively on undergraduates.

Student enrollment at Lafayette is 75% from out of state with 56 countries represented. Our students engage in 44 areas of study across four divisions - natural sciences, humanities, engineering, and social sciences. More than half of our students have studied abroad by graduation. 80% have participated in an internship experience by senior year. With 227 student organizations and 23 NCAA Div 1 sports, our students have the opportunity to develop leadership and teamwork skills.

Our Faculty body consists of 199 full-time faculty members with our PhD Faculty at 100%. Lafayette believes that close working relationships between students and faculty members greatly enhance the educational experience and our 11 to 1 student/faculty ratio helps encourage this. It allows students to have the opportunity to do undergraduate research on their own (with faculty guidance) or jointly with a faculty member.
