Welcome!
We are glad that you are planning to come to the Lehigh Valley
Collegiate Career Expo. In order to help you make a great
first impression (and increase your chances of being interviewed
and hired) we REQUIRE professional dress at this event.
Check out the sample pictures above (click to enlarge) and
follow these guidelines:
• wear a suit or jacket if at all possible (you can buy one inexpensively at a thrift shop or discount store
like Marshalls, TJ MAXX or Burlington Coat Factory)
• wear a shirt and tie (men)
• choose conservative styles for your shoes and attire
• go easy on make-up and cologne
• check your hair, outfit in the mirror when you arrive
• wear subtle jewelry
• hang your coat in the coat area
• bring a lot of resumes (one is required to enter, but you'll want many to give to employers)
• carry a bag or briefcase so you can pick up materials from the employers
Please DO NOT:
• wear sneakers, caps, jeans, sweats or mini-skirts
• wear baggy or droopy pants, T-shirts, or low-cut tops
• bring a parent - you need to show your independence here
• eat or drink while you are talking with employers (your focus should be on getting information and
sharing information about yourself)
• carry a huge backpack or lots of baggage (you want to be comfortable and be able to move around
easily)
If you have any questions about whether your interview attire is appropriate, please contact your college's Career Services staff prior
to the Expo for guidance. Remember, this is a great opportunity to introduce yourself to many employers.
Bring lots of resumes (we won't have a copier available). Good Luck!
